Microsoft’s Cortana will now only use it’s own Bing search engine, now every search will be preformed through Microsoft’s latest edge browser.
Microsoft mention in a post that Cortana was designed to work with Microsoft Edge and is powered by Bing and they are continuing to invest in these end-to-end personal search experiences.
They also mentioned that in the future they will be adding to edge and Bing, so it make sense to link it to Cortana over other search engines.
Anything else would be a “compromised experience that is less reliable and predictable”, they said.
A lot of Cortana user have used Google as there chosen search engine rather than Microsoft’s Bing engine. If a Microsoft user wants to use Google and other search engines the will have to do so out side of Cortana.
